The Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Center in Beijing is dedicated to promoting Hungarian culture and fostering cultural exchange between Hungary and China. Operating under the guidance of the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Innovation, our institute shares a common mission with 25 other Hungarian cultural centers worldwide: to bring the richness of Hungarian culture to the citizens of our host countries.
Since November 13, 2013, our institute has been proudly located in the iconic Galaxy SOHO building, designed by the renowned architect Zaha Hadid. This unique and modern architectural masterpiece provides an inspiring backdrop for our diverse cultural activities and events.
We are proud to offer a variety of programs that include art exhibitions, film screenings, and musical events, each designed to showcase the vibrant and multifaceted nature of Hungarian culture. One of the special long-term projects of our institute is the Kodály Point, where we implement the Kodály teaching method. This internationally recognized approach to music education, developed by Hungarian composer and educator Zoltán Kodály, emphasizes the importance of music literacy and a deep understanding of musical concepts from a young age.
