Richard Dumity, alpine skier, will represent Hungary at this year's Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing
The 25-year-old athlete has been able to compete with the field's finest at several international competitions this year, including the World Championships. His original goal was to participate in the 2026 Milan Winter Games, but thanks to his exquisite performance, he’ll already be present at the Paralympic Games in China.
Richard Dumity was forced into a wheelchair at the age of three, as a result of an accident. Despite his paralysis below the waist, he has already tried his strength in several sports as a child, such as handbiking and monoskiing. His love of sports and his faith in its benefits have not diminished over the years, making training a significant part of his everyday life.
The XIII Paralympic Winter Games will be held between March 4 and 13 in Beijing, with Hungary being represented for the fifth time.
