BIBF – Hungarian Poems

Hungarian poet Fanni Sütő held an online poetry reading at the eve of the annual International Book Festival, organized by the Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Center.

Fanni Sütő (1990) writer, poet, lyricist

Fanni studied English Literature and East Asian Cultures at Eotvos Lorand University, Budapest then completed a second master’s program in Children’s Literature as a student of Roehampton University, London. She has been working as an English teacher in Paris since 2016. She has published dozens of poems and short stories in Hungarian and English, several of the later are available also in audio format. In 2019 she was selected as a winner of a competition organised by Selcouth Station and her short story „Death’s Daughter” was published as a chapbook. In 2020 she published her first Hungarian short story collection. „Csudapest, világvége” („Miraclepest, the end of the world”) in ebook format. Since early 2020 she has been working in collaboration with producer Girl in the Mirror (Eszter Ruskó) as a lyricist. They will debut their music and poetry performance entitled „Papillionidae” in September.

Fanni’s favourite genres are the ones where reality and imagination intertwine; she likes the magic of everydays and the secrets hiding in city streets. At the moment she is working on her first English manuscript, a contemporary Young Adult story.
